Located in the city’s hip and trendy East London neighbourhood, this hotel was refurbished and turned around in a mere 9 months during one of the most challenging global events. Launched in the summer of 2021, this boutique hotel offers 120 rooms and suites with terraced views across the city, an all-day dining restaurant by Michelin Starred chef Dani Garcia, separate Lounge bar, a second basement bar and a rooftop restaurant complete with a swimming pool.

In a highly competitive hospitality industry, great lighting design is key to creating comfortable, safe, enjoyable and exhilarating environments that enhance brand engagement. A reflecting mirror ball room – the ‘instagram moment’ with subtly colour changing lights creates a social medial buzz and draws traffic to the brand.

The double hight reception and bar are beautifully lit to enhance the volume, whist still creating intimate seating corners. The internally lit copper bar emanates a warm glow that further draws the customer in.

A lighting waveform of suspended lights, bisecting the two ground floor rooms, adds movement and interest over the staircase.

The bright day-lit rooftop bar becomes a warm and intimate night time space.. Lights within the window recess provide a soft reflected light into the space. Seating areas are lit with spots concealed within the pergola structure and planting – giving the illusion that the festoon and rattan pendants are providing all the layers of light. The festoon lights extend out onto the pool terrace framed with halo lot mirrors reflecting the city architecture.

The basement member’s bar, devoid of any natural light offers a complete contrast to above. An opulent chandelier, suspended low amongst the seating area takes centre stage and provides the focal point in the room. Layers of lighting, seamlessly integrated within the bar joinery provide a reflected warmth into the room.
