The hardscape to this multi-functional entertaining terrace was softened with carefully designed layers of lighting. Reflections, shadow and halos of light create a sense of theatre and drama to this garden. Linear striplighting creates a glamorous effect on the stairs and bathes the lower terrace in soft reflected light.

Spotlights concealed amongst the box hedging provide a wash of light to the pleached trees bordering the upper terrace. This vertical canopy provides an illuminated backdrop to the Anthony Gormley sculpture which appears to hover above a pool of water.

Recessed uplights frame the arched door reveals whilst the interior lighting is directed so as to create patterns of light onto the terrace. Concealed tree spotlights create a dappled ‘moonlighting’ effect along the side passage.
